These works below have been inspired by a quick roadtrip to Nyngan, in central NSW. I was lucky enough to be the passenger, not driver(!) on the drive (12 hours each way!), so I got to take lots of photos of the surrounding landscape, just shooting pics out the car window. It had just rained in the preceding weeks, and the generally dry outback land was actually beautiful and green for our trip.
Above, L-R: On the way to Nyngan; Summer kaleidoscope; On the way home, No. 5. These were based on photos from the drive from various stages on the drive out and back. All currently available via Bluethumb.Above: On the way home, No. 2. (Sold, private collection). The trip back from Nyngan passes through Cunningham’s Gap, a beautiful hilly drive where the road winds through the The Great Dividing range between the Darling Downs and the Fassifern Valley. The recent rains had turned all the trees and grass fabulously green. On the way home, No. 5. Oil on canvas, 61 x 61 cm. Available via Bluethumb. Above: On the way home. The first painting from the series from the drive back through Cunningham’s Gap. I am still amazed at how fantastically green and lush everything looked. Available for sale via Bluethumb.
